Astra Windows has just been shortlisted for the best residential installation over £30K in the upcoming Installer Awards - for a stunning installation of AluK windows, doors and curtain walling in two contemporary £1.25m new build properties in Stockport.
Astra’s Manager Andy Gaskell couldn’t be more delighted: “This project always had real Wow factor – with double height SL52 curtain walling, 58BW Hi windows and 58BD doors, BSC94 sliding patio doors and BSF70 bifolds – all finished by AluK in RAL9005 contemporary matt black. But what made it really special was the attention to detail from the team here who were responsible for surveying, fabrication and installation. We even went back to site to remeasure after the brickwork course had been constructed to ensure a precision finish and the client was particularly happy with the quality of the finish and interface detailing we achieved.”
Some of the stand out features of the installation were the use of glazed gables in the bedrooms to maximise daylight and make the most of the views over the sloping gardens and valley at the rear of the houses and acoustic glass to reduce noise levels from the road at the front.
Astra Windows advised on the specification and performance of the complete glazing package so that it helped to meet the properties’ target EPC A rating and Secured by Design accreditation.
