Hurst Marks 30 Years In Business

Hurst Doors is embarking on a campaign to celebrate its 30th anniversary, recognising the people, partnerships and values that have contributed to its success over the past three decades.

The campaign will shine a spotlight on the customers, employees, suppliers and wider industry that have been part of the Hurst story since its acquisition by Norman Hurst in December 1996.

Originally established as a specialist PVC-U door panel manufacturer, Hurst has evolved into one of the UK's leading door suppliers, with a product portfolio that also now includes GRP composite doors, solid timber core composite doors and composite fire doors.

Currently supplying around 2,200 independent installers and retailers nationwide, the company benefits from continued investment in manufacturing, product development and customer service.

Throughout the anniversary campaign, Hurst will share stories celebrating the long-standing relationships that have underpinned its growth. While many customers have worked with the business for decades, a number of loyal employees have also dedicated significant parts of their careers to the company.

Mark Atkinson, Sales Director at Hurst Doors, said: "Reaching 30 years in business is something we're incredibly proud of, but this milestone belongs to everyone who has been part of the journey.
"This isn't simply a celebration of Hurst Doors. It's a celebration of our customers, our employees, our suppliers and the wider industry. Many of the relationships we've built over the years stretch back decades, and some of our customers have been with us almost from the very beginning. We've grown together, supported one another and shared in each other's success."

Remaining family-owned has been central to Hurst's identity throughout its development, with the Hurst family continuing to play an active role in the business and maintaining the same hands-on approach that has defined the company since 1996.

"Being family-owned has allowed us to take a long-term view," continued Mark. "We've always believed that strong relationships are built over years, not months. That philosophy has shaped the way we work with customers, invest in our people and develop the business, and it remains just as important today as it was 30 years ago."

The anniversary also offers an opportunity to reflect on the transformation of the door industry during that time. Manufacturing processes, product innovation, regulations and customer expectations have all changed significantly, while British manufacturers have continued to adapt to an increasingly demanding marketplace.

“As an industry we've seen huge change over the past three decades,” Mark added. “But some things never change: the importance of trust, quality and excellent customer service. Those values have guided Hurst for the last 30 years, and they'll continue to guide us into the future.”
