Nationwide 40th Celebration

Nationwide 40th Celebration

400 guests came together on Friday 5th June to celebrate 40 years of Nationwide Windows and Doors at The Vox at the NEC.

The evening was an opportunity to bring together all of the people who have supported Nationwide’s forty year journey, including key partners, long-standing suppliers and industry friends, for a night to really enjoy and remember.

Described by many as a truly unforgettable occasion, the celebrations began in style with a champagne reception before guests were welcomed into an evening of exceptional entertainment. A mesmerising performance by electric string quartet Siren, accompanied by an impressive light show and pyrotechnics display, a welcome film capturing guests' arrival and a montage of memories celebrating the company's 40-year journey, created a phenomenal opening to the event.

Hosted by Jason Manford, the evening featured a surprise appearance from George Whalley, son of managing director John Whalley, who travelled from Australia especially to mark the milestone occasion. John and operations director Daryl Cashmore also took to the stage to reflect on the company's 40-year journey and thank the employees, customers, suppliers, friends and family who have been part of that journey over the past four decades, receiving a standing ovation from guests.

Later in the evening, Jason Manford returned to the stage with a comedy set before leading renditions of ‘Sweet Caroline’ and ‘Delilah’, which had guests on their feet singing along.

A spectacular fireworks display over the lake provided one of the evening's most memorable highlights, before ten-piece party band ‘The In Thing’ took to the stage, keeping the dance floor full until the very end, providing a fitting finale to the evening.

Nationwide was established on 5th June 1986, 40 years to the day of the celebration, and has gone from strength to strength over four decades. Today, the company operates from a 150,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility on its seven acre site in Rugby, where they fabricate more than 2,500 windows and doors for installation across the UK, every week.

"It was an absolute pleasure to bring together the people who have supported our journey," says John Whalley, managing director at Nationwide. "We wanted to give our guests a night to remember and I’d like to extend a huge thank you to all of our event partners who worked tirelessly to bring this vision to life. The feedback I have received confirms that we delivered an evening worthy of the team, suppliers and industry friends who make Nationwide what it is today."

The celebration served as a powerful thank you to those who have helped the company demonstrate such strong resilience and innovation since 1986. Looking ahead, the company is poised for a bright future, ready to build on its legacy and continue leading the industry with the same commitment to quality and innovation that has defined its first forty years.
