Window and door sealant tape specialist ISO Chemie is expanding its support for the Passivhaus sector through a new permanent exhibition space at Home by Milestone in Matlock, Derbyshire.
The exhibition at the Passivhaus Centre of Excellence will allow ISO Chemie to showcase products including the WINFRAMER Type 1 thermal insulating and load-bearing bracket support system, Hybratec joint sealing tapes, BLOCO One high-performance window sealing tape, and ISO-TOP construction sheets.
Home by Milestone has been designed to demonstrate Passivhaus principles, sustainable innovation and eco-living technologies within a residential-style showroom environment.
The exhibition will also provide guidance on fenestration installation techniques, including how sealing systems can help reduce thermal bridging by allowing windows to be installed within insulation zones.
According to the editorial, doors and windows account for around 21% of air loss in an average property, while joints between walls, floors and ceilings can increase this figure significantly. ISO Chemie argues that improving airtightness remains an important factor in reducing energy consumption within residential buildings.
Andy Swift, UK Sales and Operations Manager at ISO Chemie, said the exhibition forms part of the company’s wider strategy to educate specifiers and installers about energy-efficient sealing solutions.
Swift said: “Unfortunately, thermal sealing around windows is not specified by law in the UK. That is why ISO-Chemie, whose gap-sealing tapes and solutions provide effective resistance against heat loss, is highlighting the issue through support for initiatives like this exhibition.”
He added that the company aims to help Passivhaus specifiers improve technical understanding around airtightness and installation methods.
