The Federation of Master Builders Scotland (FMB) has brokered a new partnership that will see natural fibre insulation on the shelves of one of Scotland's leading merchants.
The FMB brought together sustainable insulation specialist Sisalwool and MKM Airdrie - and from this month the full Sisalwool range including insulation batts, loft roll and breathable low-carbon products for new build, retrofit and conservation work will be available in MKN branches.
Connecting members with the suppliers, merchants and manufacturers they rely on is part of what the FMB does for small and medium-sized building firms across Scotland. Local builders working on heritage, retrofit and conservation projects will now be able to pick up sustainable insulation from their own merchant rather than ordering it in and waiting.
To mark the launch, MKM Airdrie will host a Builders' Breakfast on 27 August. Visitors can meet the Sisalwool team, see a live demonstration of the natural fibre insulation and loft roll, pick up freebies and talk to the FMB about how membership helps local firms win better work and build stronger businesses. The event is open to builders, joiners, architects, specifiers and DIY enthusiasts.
