At the “Kaiserjuwel” all-suite hotel in Going, Tyrol, alpine architecture, expansive glass surfaces and high energy-performance standards come together.
The new building expands the Seiwald resort ensemble with 22 suites, two penthouse suites and a sky wellness area featuring an infinity sky pool.
South Tyrolean company Vitralux was responsible for the exterior glazing. With frameless glazing, slim profiles and barrier-free transitions, the company’s VITRALIGHT system creates seamless connections between the interior spaces and the surrounding mountain landscape, both in the suites and in the spa area.
Performance down to the last detail
The project also focused heavily on energy performance. Triple safety insulating glass with a Ug-value of 0.6 W/m²K enables Uw-values below 0.8 W/m²K in combination with the VITRALIGHT system.
According to Swisspacer, the Swisspacer Ultimate warm edge spacer bar used within the glazing system reduces heat loss at the glazing edge and helps prevent condensation, particularly within the wellness area.
Sustainability also formed a key part of the project. The aluminium profiles used consist of at least 75% recycled aluminium.
The development combines transparent architecture with comfort, energy efficiency and responsible material use.
